Goal

I Think I Can cut out a lot of junk food from my life, if even for a few months!! As some of you know, I love chocolate and cookies and cake and pretty much everything bad for me!

I promise to swear off as much unhealthy foods as is unwholesome for me, for the rest of the year. These foods include candy, (yes, including chocolate), cookies, cake, pie, chips and last but not least, fast food! I believe there is a healthy balance.

I promise to take responsibility for my health and to eat healthier versions of the food choices I now make…. if and when I do indulge.

I THINK I CAN cut desserts and junk food out of my life for at least six days a week until summer.

I THINK I CAN . . . . . . Raise at least $2000 for At The Crossroads!

Please help!

For your generosity, let me do something for you. If you donate:

$25 – I will send you a handmade “thank you” card

$50 – I will bake you a dozen chocolate chip cookies (and not eat any) plus make you a handmade “thank you” card

$100 – I will send you a CD with my favorite songs plus make you a handmade “thank you” card

$250 – I will help you with your choice of one of the following (house-sitting, dog sitting, or babysitting) OR two of the options above

$500 – I will donate 10 volunteer hours to your favorite charity AND do two of the options above

$1000 – I will do just about anything you ask! Within reason.

Of course, times are tough and anything you can give will help and if you cannot donate money, your encouragement is always welcome!

And there is always the option of you joining the campaign! It's easy, just ask me how... or go here: http://www.atthecrossroads.org/campaign/index.php

Thank you!

I chose this goal because

I chose this goal because it is one of my greatest challenges.

And knowing you are out there encouraging me (and praying for me, haha), and that I am helping such a fantastic organization will encourage ME to eat healthy.

I'm helping because

At The Crossroads is an important part of San Francisco teens and youth. I love San Francisco and if we don’t help the teenagers and young adults, what will become of this wonderful city?

I am helping because some kids, unlike my daughter who is 20, don’t get the wonderful opportunities like a wonderful family, a roof over their head, a decent meal, and an education.

About At The Crossroads

ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 10 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.

Updates

Sorry for the lack of updates! While trying to pack for a move and prep for vacation, I am doing the best that I can to avoid junk food. Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot of "healthy" food while on the go, so I try to prepare for the day by keeping healthy food at home and taking it with me.

Thank you for yet another anonymous donation! Much appreciated! I just wish I could send you a personal thanks!

Hello all, I am back from a road trip up north (Seattle to Vancouver to Portland and back) and did Ok. It's usually hard to eat right when eating out all the time but I got a little bit of fruit in, here and there!

I also wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to my anonymous donor!! I am honored and pleased of your generous gift! I would like to thank you properly so if you'd like to email me, I will do so otherwise, thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart! -jC

Still doing great!! Had a little down fall this week on the junk food front, on the other hand, I have re-awakened my muscles with my 1st personal training session in years!!! I hurt for three days thank-you-very-much! Inching closer to my goal(s).

Thank you for your help! Cookies are on their way to Paul and Bill this weekend. Shannon will get a new batch! Thanks Shannon! Love you too....

Thank you everyone! So far so good, I really appreciate the encouragement and donations!

Thus far, I have substituted ice cream for natural fruit Popsicles and I am eating a lot of almonds and raw trail mixes for snacks instead of the bad stuff. Now to get more fruit in me!
