We Think Liz Can
Support Liz's Campaign to Blog on FoodCraftAustin while helping homeless youth
Goal
I commit to writing at least 3 posts on my blog http://foodcraftaustin.blogspot.com/) each week for the next 8 weeks. With one bonus post, that makes 25 posts before April 13th. I've got enough material, but apparently not enough motivation when it gets down to it.
An additional goal is that I'll have 10 pages of my cookbook written in time to submit them on March 6th to the Writers' League of Texas' 2009 Manuscript Contest in the "Narrative Nonfiction" group. As of February 18th, I've got three pages written, many more planned, but zero edited and finalized. No pressure.
I chose this goal because
I chose this goal for a variety of reasons. Many of my friends know of my love for food. Many others know how I love to write. Some of them know that I have a (somewhat atrophied) food blog. All of them know that I love children. If this attempt to blog helps any children, it will be worth it.
I'm helping because
I'm helping b/c Rob won't stop bugging me to do something. No, but seriously, I'm doing this for a selfish reason that I really want to build my food writing portfolio. I'm also doing this for the non-selfish reason of wanting to help kids. It's easy, we'll take donations of any size, and literally every penny counts.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
