We Think Naomi Can
Support Naomi's Get Off My Ass Campaign while helping homeless youth
Goal
My goal is to run the Oakland half marathon on March 27th. This doesn't give me a whole lot of time to train, so I hope that all of your donations will give me the boost that I need to push myself to make it happen!
In order to prepare for this half marathon I have set up a schedule for myself of how to get myself in great running shape. I have enlisted my co-worker Erica to run with me, and we have set up a strict training schedule. Each week we are increasing our running by one mile. We start at 3 miles, and are running three times a week. Please feel free to get on me if you see me doing anything that may derail my training.
I chose this goal because
I chose to do a half marathon because I have been wanting to make a healthier life for myself, and this is a perfect way for me to be forced to healthify my life. I have been wanting to start running for years, and this is the opportunity to get off my ass and do something with myself. Running a half marathon will not only put me in better shape, but it has already forced me to quit smoking cigarettes, and start eating better.
I'm helping because
I am helping because I truly believe in the work that we do at At The Crossroads. I know that the money that is raised in the campaign goes to affect the lives of so many young people in San Francisco. I watch my client's everyday make huge steps towards achieving their goals, and this inspires me to reach for the goals that I have in my own life.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 10 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
