We Think Patty Can
Support Help Me Help You Live G-Free! while helping homeless youth
Goal
As some of you may know, I recently started a gluten-free diet for health resons. It's been one of the most exciting findings I've come across. I'm researching new things every day about the negative effects gluten can have on one's body. I've even started a blog at http://livingthegfreelife.blogspot.com/.
But I want to take it a step further....I want to create an i-phone app, enhance my blog, perhaps write a manual or book....all in an effort to provide accessible and helpful information on living a gluten-free life. By the end of the year, I hope to have resources that will provide more knowledge to the community at large about one of the fastest growing food allergies in the world.
I chose this goal because
For more than 16 years I have quietly suffered from foods that contained gluten. It was in December of 2009 that I finally discovered what had been ailing me all these years. Did you know that 1 in 133 Americans suffer from Gluten allergies? I want to get the word out and help more people become healthy!
I'm helping because
ATC is a wonderful organization with an amazing heart! Their mission to help the most underserved of individuals is admirable. I want to help this one-of-a-kind organization who has shown immense leadership in the battle against homelessness.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 10 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
