We Think Tiffany Can
Support Painting for YOU! while helping homeless youth
Goal
This is the year that I start making my creative life and creative career a reality.
For this campaign, I am committing to making at least one painting per week for 8 weeks. I will post weekly updates with photos showing my progress and will also share my joys and struggles throughout the process.
At the end of the 8 weeks, everyone who contributes at least $25 to my campaign will be entered into a drawing to win the painting of their choice. I will then sell the remaining paintings on my etsy shop (www.etsy.com/craftyfanny) and will donate 15% of the proceeds back to At the Crossroads.
I chose this goal because
I chose this goal because I have found that I work best when I am accountable to someone else. And who better to be accountable to than my awesome family and friends?
As you all know, I am starving for change in my life and I think that this is the best way to get things going. But, here's the catch: while I recently discovered that I love painting, I've never really painted. I've never really been an artist. I'm really starting out at Step 1. And I have a lot of goals for myself with this and plans, but they all require action.
And the action piece is where you step in. If I feel accountable, I will do it. I will simply produce without worrying or putting too much pressure on myself or feeling paralyzed by taking that first step. And then slowly, it will become a habit. And then once it becomes a habit, it can become my job.
I'm helping because
I have been extremely fortunate in my life and am so very grateful to be in a position where I can take time away from a full-time job to figure out what I need for myself and to get the training to make a change. I have the support of my family and friends. I have a savings account that allows me the flexiblity to not have a job and travel.
Not everyone has all of this. But everyone should be able to live their best life. These teenagers don't have the amazing opportunities I had growing up, but ATC gives them a second chance. A chance to be safe. A chance to get an education. A chance to receive the support that is so crucial to building a life.
ATC helps give these young people a life where they can be safe and off the streets. A life where they realize that someone actually believes in them. A life where they are shown that they are worth something -- and then they start believing it for themselves.
We all deserve this. ATC helps make it possible for these young kids.
About At The Crossroads
ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 13 years ago, we have worked with more than 5,000 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.
