Calling All Transcription Volunteers!

Are you a speedy typist with a few hours of free time in late February or throughout March? If so, we’d love you to help transcribe some interviews. Do it at home, from a coffee shop, or wherever is most comfortable for you!

Every year, At The Crossroads puts out two newsletters, which are shared with thousands of people. We focus on a different theme for each one, and we try very hard to make them interesting, educational, and engaging. We interview clients, staff members, and community partners, and we need your help to make sure that their words get captured properly. You’ll be playing an important role in educating the community about our clients and the issues that affect them!

You don’t need to have lots of experience transcribing in order to help with this project! All you need is an interest in getting a deeper look into ATC’s work, access to a computer, lots of patience, and attention to detail.

The process is easy:

1) We email you a recording of an interview
2) You type it up into a Word doc (a typical interview takes about 3-4 hours to transcribe)
3) You email us back the completed Word doc (we ask for a one-week turnaround)

If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please email Mari Amend, our Communications Manager, at mari@atthecrossroads.org.
