Tiffany, you amaze me as you continue to strive to do the deeds; you know the great enthusiasms, the great devotions; you spend yourself in worthy causes. And you will know in the end the triumph of high achievement, and at the worst, if you feel some disappointment, you will do so while daring greatly. So your place will never be with those cold and timid souls who have known neither victory nor defeat. Stay in there, Tif, and keep up the good work. -Rich

These pictures are so lovely! I think one would look perfect in the baby's nursery, so we're really hoping we win that raffle! You know, for the sake of the future and all.

This is the year that I start making my creative life and creative career a reality.

For this campaign, I am committing to making at least one painting per week for 8 weeks. I will post weekly updates with photos showing my progress and will also share my joys and struggles throughout the process.

At the end of the 8 weeks, everyone who contributes at least $25 to my campaign will be entered into a drawing to win the painting of their choice. I will then sell the remaining paintings on my etsy shop (www.etsy.com/craftyfanny) and will donate 15% of the proceeds back to At the Crossroads.

I chose this goal because

I chose this goal because I have found that I work best when I am accountable to someone else. And who better to be accountable to than my awesome family and friends?

As you all know, I am starving for change in my life and I think that this is the best way to get things going. But, here's the catch: while I recently discovered that I love painting, I've never really painted. I've never really been an artist. I'm really starting out at Step 1. And I have a lot of goals for myself with this and plans, but they all require action.

And the action piece is where you step in. If I feel accountable, I will do it. I will simply produce without worrying or putting too much pressure on myself or feeling paralyzed by taking that first step. And then slowly, it will become a habit. And then once it becomes a habit, it can become my job.

I'm helping because

I have been extremely fortunate in my life and am so very grateful to be in a position where I can take time away from a full-time job to figure out what I need for myself and to get the training to make a change. I have the support of my family and friends. I have a savings account that allows me the flexiblity to not have a job and travel.

Not everyone has all of this. But everyone should be able to live their best life. These teenagers don't have the amazing opportunities I had growing up, but ATC gives them a second chance. A chance to be safe. A chance to get an education. A chance to receive the support that is so crucial to building a life.

ATC helps give these young people a life where they can be safe and off the streets. A life where they realize that someone actually believes in them. A life where they are shown that they are worth something -- and then they start believing it for themselves.

We all deserve this. ATC helps make it possible for these young kids.

About At The Crossroads

ATC walks the streets of San Francisco, reaching out to homeless youth and young adults on their turf. We work with young people who others have given up on, who would not get help without us. Since we started 19 years ago, we have worked with more than 7,500 youth, helping them build outstanding lives.

Madison Day is the winner! According to the random number generator, it was donator #9 who won a painting of her choice. Thanks to everyone for playing! Your support means a ton to me AND a ton to the kids that ATC supports and helps. We're changing lives here, people!

Week 2 is here! Woot!

I call this one "The Love Boat" or "Bateau de l'amour." I am kind of in love with these giraffe monsters and am thinking it would be fun to do a whole series on them and follow their adventures. It looks like they're about to smooch!

Deets: This painting was done on a 9x12 canvas panel using acrylic paints and various collage papers. It's ready to go and would look great leaning on a bookshelf!

It appears that I have been so busy painting that I've forgotten to post updates!!! So, here's week one's painting. I call it "les quatres girafes" cause I'm classy like that!

Deets: this painting is a mixed-media collage with acrylic paint on a 12x12 canvas. It is ready to hang and ready to make you smile!
