With your support we were able to throw a holiday party for our clients and it was a huge success! Youth were happy to receive their gifts, movie tickets, winter items, and a hot meal at the party. Clients chatted with current and past ATC staff, brought their loved ones, and caught up with old friends while they picked through hundreds of homemade baked goods!
For many reasons, including the recent closure of our usual venue, we weren’t able to host a party in the Mission as we’ve done in the past. Even though Mission youth have been less visible lately, we worried that we weren’t doing enough to reach them and were sad to not be in their neighborhood during the holidays since so many of them look forward to it each year. Our fears were alleviated to see ATC’s Mission clients walk through the door of our Downtown party! No matter what changes ATC goes through, our relationship to San Francisco’s young people has always been the priority. The impact is authentic, loyal, and can withstand the test of time and place. Holding this gives me a sense of pride in our clients, staff, and community.
Support from the At The Crossroads community is what allows us to celebrate our clients and deepen our relationships with them. They will come back years after their time with us to say hello, to say they’re doing OK, to say thank you. A former Mission client who is now a baker and business owner, reached out to ATC and donated baked good for this year’s party! Many of you baked, wrapped, designed, donated, collected, and dropped off supplies for our holiday party this year, and truly we could not have made this happen for our clients without your generosity.
Thank you all for making the holidays bright for San Francisco’s homeless youth.
