Covid-19 has highlighted the humanitarian crisis that’s been growing in San Francisco and the Bay Area for years. So many of our neighbors are not being provided with an opportunity to thrive, much less survive. Is this really the community we want to live in?
This is not an indictment on any one person or group of people, it is a call to action for all of us. It is an invitation to our community to do better—because we must. We refuse to accept the status quo when it means extreme inequality and people living and dying on our city’s streets.
At The Crossroads envisions a Bay Area that is racially and socioeconomically diverse, where our social safety net is a model for the country, and we have eliminated chronic homelessness. It will take a coordinated response, a spirit of partnership, and unrelenting persistence. It will take all of us coming together to build a compassionate community where nobody is left behind.
We believe that together we can do better. Will you join us?
Take the #SFCanDoBetter pledge and commit to the following:
- LEARN ABOUT THE ISSUES: Read articles by local news sources on how we can address the humanitarian crisis in our region. Attend ATC’s events (online and someday in person) and bring friends. Follow and engage with us on social media.
- RAISE YOUR VOICE: Share what you learn with your community. Reach out to us with your ideas and questions. Show up to support our cause.
- SHARE YOUR RESOURCES: Invest in ATC’s work on the streets. Share ATC with your community and introduce new supporters to our organization. Host supply drives for our clients.
At The Crossroads commits to being in touch with you regularly, inviting you to be in the room with us, listening to your ideas, fielding your questions, and keeping it real with you.
