In 2008, At The Crossroads created a new way for our community to support our work. It was called the I Think I Can Campaign, and the idea was simple: come up with a goal for yourself and then get support from friends and family to help you accomplish it, all while raising money for ATC.
The I Think I Can Campaign took off and inspired some very creative endeavors. One supporter re-tattooed her entire back and raised over $1,000 from family, friends, and even strangers. Another friend of ATC offered anyone who donated a ride anywhere they wanted in San Francisco—and for anyone who donated more than $100, he offered a ride anywhere in the Bay Area.
The I Think I Can Campaign no longer exists in its original form, but you can still start a custom campaign to raise support for ATC—in fact, it’s easier than ever before! Check out our campaign page here.
Below are a few highlights from past I Think I Can Campaigns and stories from participants about their experiences fundraising for ATC, while working on their personal goals.
Mary is a founding Board Member and an early participant in I Think I Can (ITIC). She created multiple campaigns, one of which was to walk around the block at least once a day. Another was what she called the “5x10x10 Challenge” in which the five founding Board Members had to introduce at least 10 new people with ATC to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Mary’s favorite part about ITIC its connection to ATC’s mission and client work.
