At The Crossroads’ first Advisory Board was created in 2007 when we were working on our fiscal independence. In 2010, ATC received 501(c)3 status and founded our first Board of Directors. Our board has been as small as three people and as mighty as 15, and they’ve always been hugely supportive of our work, helping us with everything from fundraising, to finances, to governance. 100% of our Board Members contribute to At The Crossroads annually, and collectively, they have donated more than $95,000 to our Building Home Campaign in 2017.
ATC invited founding Board Member, Mary Gregory, and current Board Member, Jeanine Walters, to talk about their experiences on ATC’s Board of Directors. Mary describes how the early board consisted of just a few people and how they worked to provide as much guidance as possible to ATC’s staff. Jeanine talks about how the current board is much bigger, and includes people with extensive and diverse experience, increasing the board’s capacity to provide support for the entire organization.
Listen to Mary and Jeanine discuss why they were drawn to be on At The Crossroads’ Board of Directors and what connects them to our work.
