Once a week, our clients can schedule a one-to-one meeting with an ATC counselor. A lot of things happen at these meetings. Clients can talk about anything they want, they can eat a hot meal, they can get a week’s worth of groceries, and they can pick out a new outfit. Not only do our clients get to choose clothing that makes them look and feel great—we also build trusting relationships with them during these meetings. Providing young people with high-quality supplies is a critical part of our work, and we strive to keep our clothing room stocked with the items they want and need the most: jeans, sweatpants, t-shirts, hoodies, and shoes.
ATC is often able to rely on in-kind donations of clothing from stores and manufacturers, but recently, our clothing room ran out of pants to give to our clients. That’s why we’re turning to our community for support. Can you help us by purchasing pants for our youth?
We have created an Amazon Wishlist with different types of pants in the sizes we need. So far, several supporters have stepped up and purchased pants for our clients, and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity! One of our clients made sure to tell us how happy he was to finally have a brand-new pair of pants, the “good kind” of pants, in his size. Buying a pair of pants (or two, or three…or 10) is a great way to have a direct and immediate impact on the lives of ATC’s clients. All it takes is a few clicks!
If you ever do shopping on Amazon, there’s another way that you can support ATC—set up an AmazonSmile account and select At The Crossroads as your charity of choice (here’s a tip: when selecting your charity, search for “At The Crossroads, San Francisco” to find us more easily). This means that for eligible purchases, 0.5% of the proceeds will be donated to ATC at no extra cost to you! Simply shop by going to smile.amazon.com to ensure that your online shopping = donations for our organization.
